SinoSwiss Holding is planning an Innovation Center in Rapperswil
Zug-based SinoSwiss Holding is planning an Innovation Center in Rapperswil-Jona. For this purpose, it has concluded a purchase agreement with the town of Rapperswil-Jona for the acquisition of a 2,000 m2 area of land in the Schachen industrial area. The construction of the Innovation Center Rapperswil is planned on this site. A total of around CHF 20 million will be invested. The project is managed by Rapperswil-based SinoSwiss Technopark (Switzerland) AG, a subsidiary of SinoSwiss Holding.
With the Innovation Center Rapperswil-Jona, a meeting place for science, entrepreneurship and innovation shall be created as well as a Swiss-Asian platform for the promotion of regional economic development and the strengthening of transnational economic partnerships. In its function as a startup incubator, the Innovation Center will provide impulses for the local and Swiss startup scene.
SinoSwiss Holding has been pursuing a long-term strategy since its foundation in 2013. The aim is to build an economic bridge between Switzerland and Asia. The first bridge pillar is the fully privately financed SinoSwiss Technopark for Asia in China, a completed project in which a three-digit million amount of private capital has already been invested. The second bridge pillar is the planned Innovation Center in Rapperswil-Jona, which will be home to both established companies and startups.
The investor founded Fenshare himself as a one-man company, as a startup, and thus has a special affinity for founders and their startups. He chose Rapperswil-Jona as a location for two reasons in particular. Firstly, he has private contacts in the region and secondly, Rapperswil-Jona is located in the Zug-Zurich-St. Gallen economic area, which is home to both internationally active startups and outstanding universities.
With the "Innovation Center", SinoSwiss has presented a convincing project. The existing offer for startups is meaningfully supplemented and expanded. The startups and also the SMEs are offered opportunities for the globalization of their value chain in various development phases and thus contribute to their competitiveness. For the best possible embedding of the offer in the existing environment, talks have already been held with other startup support organizations. All of this is privately funded by SinoSwiss Holding. Thus, together with the existing offers, a regional ecosystem for startup promotion will be created.
The building application is planned to be submitted in spring 2023.
